WHAT THE F?

Al-Fatehah. The introduction. I haven’t read any book that doesn’t have any introduction, so this is not surprising for me. Yet I wonder, those people compiled The Koran and arranged it based on the length of the surahs; what’s so special about this one that they put it in front of the others?

Guide us to the right path. Ihdina shirataal mustaqim.

Shirataal mustaqim is told to be the bridge to the heaven. I don’t know whether they interpret it from The Koran themselves or the apostles explicitly told them that way. Well, since I was little, I always believe that this bridge is so long that it will take years to reach its end. But then again, the bridge will appear differently to every people. The believers will shortly reach its end, yet the unbelievers will simply fall from the so-called bridge, considering the ‘bridge’ will be seven times sharper than a sword and seven times thinner than a hair.

Hi. I don’t know how many blogs I’ve made, but this is probably going to be the most honest, sincere, and wise blog among the others. Everyone would wonder:

“Why on earth would Manda explore The Koran? She’s a firm agnostic with no sense of obligation to pray to God!”

But if there’s one thing I learned from my short 17 years of life on earth, it’s that listening to people’s destructive thoughts won’t do me any good.

“But don’t you think that listening to those so-called destructive thought is the one that brought you into your ultimate character: skepticism?”

No. That’s utterly wrong. Every doubt I ever have came within the walls of my brain. Other people’s thoughts merely fortify it.

I’ve been intending to read the translation of The Koran ever since I was in high school, but I wasn’t able to find the time. I want to read it sincerely, I want to explore it. So, this is it :)
